Nature & Environment: A Faith-Based Perspective programme

Through this programme, Uganda Little Hands Go Green unites diverse voices and initiatives to inspire environmental awareness and stewardship through the lens of faith. Recognizing the influential role of faith in shaping attitudes and behaviors, we engage faith leaders, environmental experts, and community activists in meaningful dialogue and collaborative actions to address pressing environmental issues.

1. Faith-based Environmental TV Talk Shows

At Little Hands Go Green, we believe in the power of dialogue, collaboration, and shared understanding to inspire positive change and promote environmental conservation. Through our biannual TV Talk Shows, we provide a platform for engaging discussions with faith leaders from different faiths, faith based environmental experts, faith environmental activists, and thought leaders from diverse faith backgrounds to explore and address pressing environmental issues from a faith-based perspective. Each biannual TV Talk Show focuses on a specific theme or topic related to environmental conservation, sustainability, and climate action. Through these engaging conversations, we delve into critical environmental issues, exploring their significance from various faith perspectives.

2. Go Green Sundays: Inspiring Environmental Stewardship through Faith and Action

The Go Green Sunday, a transformative nationwide initiative organized by ULHG, amplifies the message of environmental stewardship within faith communities. The Go green Sunday is a nationwide movement conducted annually in Catholic churches. Embracing the ethos of 'Faith in Action,' Go Green Sundays rally children in church congregations to plant fruit trees in churchyards annually. Beyond mere tree planting, these Sundays are a catalyst for educational activities on climate change and environmental stewardship. The first Go Green Sunday was held on 20th August 2023 across 79 Catholic churches in Kampala Diocese, marking a significant milestone in connecting faith and environmental consciousness. The Go Green Sunday campaign is a call to action, a symbol of collective responsibility, and a testament to the power of faith and environmental stewardship.
