Climate Change Conference: 300 Children Delegates to Receive Liberty Soma Plan Insurance Cover

Liberty Life Assurance Uganda has joined Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green as key partners in sponsoring the forthcoming Children’s Climate Change Conference.

During the conference, the insurance company is going to give out free Liberty Soma insurance covers to all the 300 children delegates.

The Soma plan (Education plan) was launched recently at Kampala Serena Hotel with an aim of enabling parents save for their children’s future. This Education plan is uniquely suited to support parents with all sorts of incomes thus enabling one to save for their children’s education from as little as shs50,000 a month.

Little Hands Go Green Chief Executive Officer, Joseph Masembe applauded Liberty Life Assurance for joining the green movement citing that with their soma plan, many children will have a secured future.

The conference is scheduled to take place on 22 April, 2018 at Ntinda School of the Deaf.

It will run under the theme ‘End Plastic pollution, Restore Nature – protect the future’ and it will look at curbing pollution of the environment using plastic wastes, restoring of wetland and planning for and protection of the environment for future use.

Meanwhile, during this World Earth Day Conference, The Environment Minister Dr. Mary Kitutu, NEMA Executive Director Dr. Tom Okurut and Little Hands Go Green will launch the theme for the 2018 World Environment Day with a pledge from the participating schools to end the use of kavera in their schools.

Little Hands Go Green has already been advocating for this and effecting it in schools by giving children reusable bags in return.

Apart from bringing together hundreds of pupils from different schools in Uganda, Rwanda and beyond, this year’s conference will attract several dignitaries from government and private sector. Both local and international media are expected in large numbers.
